Some people might look at the title of this book and think they don't need this book. But, as the author states, communication skills are just like a house re-modeling--some people need a complete renovation, others just need a paint touch-up of their skills.

The book is pretty inexpensive, but has given me some new ideas in how I conduct myself in social communication situations.

Just think of how much money you spend on improving your golf score or your musical skills through lessons. How much do you spend on bettering your communication skills?

I read this book to simply get some new ideas. Most of the book is really about commonsense and, for me, just reaffirmed what I had already thought. I did however take away a few bits of wisdom that I have been using and some interesting truths that have given me a better insight into myself. And that, really, is all I wanted to take away after reading this book.

Don't expect a life changing read. If you get this book, you may walk away with a deeper understanding of what you already knew, but might not have realized.
